This one took some time, and it’s a little personal to me and my never-ending saga of too much energy, too much cortisol and too much pace.

The Holiday is an acrylic original based on the rollercoaster that is holiday life for me. It goes a little something like this:

-        Phase 1: excitement, time off, first cold beer, heat, time with Mr Meg, blue skies, new location, dinners al fresco

-       Phase 2: unease, busy brain, lack of purpose, can’t settle, trying to be present, manic podcast listening and book reading, walks, gym, how long are we here?

-         Phase 3: ideas, at ease, peace, planning next holiday, calm, water, stillness

-         Phase 4: time speeds up, last few days, energised, ready to move, home time, recharged

I’ve been here many times before. This is my holidays on repeat. Despite the rollercoaster, they’re always a journey and always worth it. On that note, I need to book more of them 😊
