Riki has always loved colour.

Inspired by her colour-pop mum, Heather, colour was their thing. From fashion to interiors, creativity has always been in her core.

Years spent with textures and paints at Art College were followed by a Masters in PR & Communications. For the next 20 years, life ran on speed. From multiple deadlines and clients, to travel, long hours, missed appointments, and a mental diary, art took a backseat. It was replaced by overwhelm and bucketloads of cortisol.

During a house renovation in 2023—the manifestation of her dream home—with zero budget and a building site for a home, tester pots and a spare canvas led to her first piece in years.

It was good, it was punchy, but most of all, it calmed her mind. Art became a way to quiet a busy mind, release energy, and embrace her love for colour. As the interiors of her home came to life, so did the walls. More and more paintings shouted loud and proud, and her love for art was back.

In this crazy world of imitation and speed, each piece is a true original, taking hours and days to complete. That’s why each piece lives only once. There are no prints. The bold pieces she creates are full of positive and chaotic energy, finalised as complete works, designed to bring vibrancy and joy into any home.

Art by Riki is for ‘the originals.’
