So Kind

So Kind is a painting that I completed whilst looking around my lovely home and seeing so many beautiful things that people have gifted me. Small gifts, large gifts, people are so kind. I am always grateful for the friends that I have in my life and to my family, and this is one of those vases that I was gifted by a lovely, lovely lady. 

 But what struck me about this was yes, she bought me a gift, but secondly that she knew me so well. It wasn't a gift that would suit everyone. It was a gift that she knew I would love, and I do. Every time I see that gift, I think of her. That vase takes pride of place in my house, and that's one of many.

 I look around my home, and there are so many things that fill me full of joy. Many of which have been gifted to me by special people over the years. The things themselves are so nice, but really it's the thought behind them. When people try to find something that’s very ‘you’, they’re thinking of you. 

So when I try and buy gifts for people, I always aim to think of the person first, always.

 And so really, this piece is just about people in my life that are so kind. When I look at it, I'm very, very grateful for them, and that's why I decided to paint this specific vase. Yes, I love it, but it's more what it represents. I hope So Kind reminds you of the kind people in your life. There's a lot of negativity in this world, but there's also so much to be thankful for.
