MAPLE LEAF

Description

MAPLE LEAF

  • Acrylic, pouring acrylics, spray paint,  multi-coloured leaf, mixed medium
  • An original
  • 100x100cms
  • Unframed

My Mum and I share a passion for maple trees   - the stronger in colour, the better. We have bright green ones, burgundy ones and bright red maple trees. Although we love them all, this bright stunner delivers every single year.

This tree has travelled with me from my first home and our little postage stamp back garden that was a sun trap, to my current home, and now it's back with my parents.

It's divine! Although we have moved it a few times, that's due to circumstances rather than by design. And when we find a new spot that it loves, we don't move it unless neccessary.

It's now thriving in my parents' shady garden and gives my mum so much joy.

Whilst in bright red bloom during the autumnal sunshine, I wanted to capture this beauty. It's a layered painting consisting of green, yellow and red hues, with gold and green leaf positioned in a checkered-board style, with the main tree painted in the foreground. If you look closely, you'll even find a number of the actual leaves from the tree within the piece.
