My Little Creative Pals
July brings some welcome time off from the day job, and this week, I had the total pleasure of spending some time with one of my pal's small people and their cousin. A trio of artist girl energy that was so welcome in the studio.
There’s something so beautiful about hanging out together, watching A, H & L take a blank canvas and create something incredible. It's such a joy and as we painted, we chatted, we talked about what they were creating and so much more.
Like all good things in life, it's often not about the destination but the time together creating the pieces. For me, art is ALWAYS about joy, not perfection.
I guess the time with the girls also reminded me of my younger years when nothing was more exciting than new paints, pencils or basically anything arty. Creativity isn’t something we grow out of, it’s something we carry with us.
In a world so full of screens, I was super grateful to have spent the time with young folks who wanted to create and who enjoyed the process, each bringing home super colourful and very different pieces for their bedroom walls.
