A new year always brings a sense of possibility, and as 2026 ramps up and we emerge from winter, I feel excited, grounded, and open to where creativity may lead next. After a year of growth and momentum, this year feels less about rushing forward and more about creating with intention, staying true to my style, and allowing space for new experiences.
Here are a few of my creative goals and hopes for Art by Riki in 2026.
Meaningful Collaborations
One of my biggest intentions for 2026 is to explore more collaborations. I’m particularly drawn to working with interior designers, creatives, and like‑minded brands who value individuality, texture, and bold expression.
Collaborations offer the opportunity to see my work in new contexts, whether that’s within beautifully designed interiors, creative projects, or commercial spaces. I love the idea of creating work that responds to another creative vision while still remaining unmistakably ArtbyRiki.
Hosting an Art Event
Events worked well last year - they gave me a focus, a determination to show up and exposure for my work with new audiences. This year, I would love to host another Art by Riki. Whether it’s an open house or a small gathering celebrating art, the aim would be to bring people together in a meaningful way.
Art is meant to be experienced, talked about, and felt; and for me, it's so important that people can see the work up close, ask questions, and connect with the process feels like a natural next step.
An Art Retreat: Space to Learn & Reset
Another goal for 2026 is to attend an art retreat. Stepping away from everyday routines and distractions, immersing myself fully in creativity, learning, and reflection feels incredibly important at this stage. Time spent surrounded by other artists, trying new techniques, and benefiting from fresh perspectives would be of huge value to me - I'm a life-long learner so anything that moves me forward always appeals to me.
Staying True to My Style
Above all else, my most important goal for 2026 is to continue creating bold, colourful, layered pieces that are true to me.
My work will always be about texture, movement, emotion, and depth, built through layers of acrylic, palette knife marks, and often hidden words beneath the surface. While growth and exploration are essential, staying authentic to my creative voice will remain.
Moving Forward with Trust
As I look ahead, I need to believe in myself and trust the process. Doubt often creeps in but an understanding that this is part of the process and to push on through will be key to moving forward.
2026 feels like a year for connection, creativity, and confidence in my direction. I’m excited to see where it leads.
